When you are writing your blog posts, it is important that you make your posts scannable and easy for readability. The tips in this article will show you some quick fix to help you format and structure you blog posts well in order to make it easier for readers to grab your content.
  1. Use Subheadings: whenever you want to make a new point in your post, use subheadings to present a short title for the point. This not only helps for readers who just want to scan through your content but it also help in structuring you blog content in such a way that makes it attractive to the eye.
  2. Make use of Short Paragraphs: am sure you still recall the paragraph lessons from "the high school". If you've to make a long explanation on a particular point, it is recommended you break that point up into short paragraphs. This will prevent you content from getting clustered and difficult to read.
  3. Proper alignment: having your posts properly justified is a key step in formatting your post for easy readability. Also, be consistent in the way you justify the contents a page so as not to make everything look clumsy.
  4. Use Bullets: Anytime you want to make a list of items or something as such in your post, listing them using bullets makes attractive and appealing to the eye. Readers quickly grab those points.
  5. Break up a long article into several pages: if you must write a very long article, it is just so nice that you have it broken up into different posts, making them a sort of series post. Most readers are usually discouraged to read a piece of content if they how lengthy it is, many people (including myself) see it as a daunting task to read a very long post and I believe most people will just jump out of your blog and look for another blog that provide such information in a short form. Read:How long should a blog post be?
  6. Be consistent in your Style of Format: finally, when you have chosen a certain formatting style, stick to it all through your posts. In no time, your readers will get accustomed to your style and will easily identify your post anywhere they see it.
So, what do you think? what styles do you use in formatting your blog posts? let's share.
