This is a very short tutorial on backing up and restoring a blogger

template. In this post, We will be looking at why you need to back up your

blogger template and how to go about it.
Why do you need to to backup your blogger template?
In the process of trying new features on your blog or trying to

add a widget, you might need to edit some codes in your default blogger

template, it is possible that you tamper with some codes and things get

messy. Fortunately, you have no need to fret, there is a feature in

blogger which you can use in backing up or restoring your blogger template

so that it could be reused in case you touched what you shouldn't.
How to backup a Blogger Template.
This is quite easy and you do not need any external widget or app to do
this.
Step 1: Log in to your blogger dashboard
"Template" tab at the left sidebar of blogger dashboard.
Step 2: click on the 'template' button at the left sidebar on your

dashboard. Wait for the content to load.
Step 3: Scroll the right top side of your dashboard, you will see the tab

"Backup/Restore" like in the image below, click on the button and follow

Backup/Restore Tab
the prompt.
Step 4: Select the "Download full template" button and choose the directory

where you want the template to be download. The template will be in a

'.XML' format.
That's it! Your template is now successfully backed up. Now, you

can experiment all you want with your template and be rest assured you can

always get your blog back unaltered.
  * It is basically the same process in restoring your blogger template.

The only new thing is that; before you can restore a template, you should

have saved it earlier, and all you just have to do is navigate to the

folder where you saved your template. Then, upload it.
Voila! that's all.
NB: It is recommended that you backup your template before you start

tampering your blogger source code, so , in case anything goes wrong, you

can always restore your blog to an earlier and perfect state.
