If you are going to make anything out of your blog, then you should know that "writing skill" is a necessary skill you need to possess. Truly, you can't become an incredible writer overnight, but again, you're not as bad as you think.
All you need is some little motivation and inspiration. This article will expose you to 5 simple yet powerful tips you can use to improve your writing skill incredibly. Hang on, friend -
Here we come:
  1. Read, Read, Read:
Yes yes, to be a good writer, you must be an avid and ardent reader. Read other blogs, pick up magazines and newspapers - read 'em up-, just read whatever comes your way.
We all know "you can't give what you don't have". Reading not only improves your writing ability, but it also increases your knowledge base and increases your exposure.
  2. Write, then Edit:
Most people get tempted to want to correct their errors as they write (or type). This is basically wrong especially for a beginning writer. It is best you write -not minding the mistakes you make- as much as you can put down, then when you finally think you have written enough, you can go back and start editing your write up.
Why is this so? you may want to ask. This is because editing while typing(writing) slows you down and also causes you to loose ideas in your head and at the end of the day, you get frustrated.
  3. Read Your Write Up Aloud:
After taking so much time to put your thoughts down, now it is time to go through what you've written. WAIT! Don't make the mistake of trying to read it up in your mind 'cause at the end of the day, you will only imagine the same thing you have written.
Here's what you need to do: read it out aloud like you are actually reading it to someone else.
  4. Have Someone else Read Your Write Up:
Even after reading your own article, there would still be some errors you won't detect. But when someone else with a different state of mind from you and an objective mind reads it, they are more likely to see and point out your mistakes.
This person doesn't necessarily have to be an English guru or a grammarian, just a colleague or a friend will do.
  5. Write Often:
As it is always said "practice makes perfect", write, write and don't stop writing. In no time, you will be surprised yourself at how well you've become as a writer.
  6. Know what you want to write About:
If you are to write about a particular topic rather than a personal experience or a fiction, then you should get to know so much about your topic of interest. Make an ample amount of research, pick up the major points and add a personal touch.

    So, that's all from me.
what tips do you use to improve your writing skill? let's talk.
