What is guest posting?
I know you might have the the myth about guest blogging all over

the net. The hype about how you can boost traffic with guest posting

(guest blogging as some would call it). Well, I might not necessarily call it a hype cos it is actually real and true. Today, in this article, we will be

discussing what guest posting means and how it works and how it will help

you increase your blog traffic and readership.

What is guest posting?
Guest posting (some call it guest blogging) is the act of publishing blog

posts on another blogger's blog, usually done to gain exposure and increase

traffic. Guest posting normally occur between two bloggers who operate

within the same niche.
How Guest posting works?
1)An author (writer) contacts or notify another blogger(publisher) about

their intention to have their blog post shown on the publisher's blog.
2)The publisher makes decision whether to agree or not.
3)If publishing agrees to accept guest post, the author comes up with

original and quality content, submit it to the publisher and it gets

published on the publisher's blog.
Some General rules usually set by publishers.
1) the publisher requires you to notify them before submitting your blog

post.
2) The publisher demands that your content is original and unique. You

didn't copy content from another blog.
3) Publisher allows you to include a backlink to your blog.
4) Publisher allows you to include one or two links in your content.
5) publisher allows you to include some of your social media accounts

(like facebook and twitter).
NB: Note that the above rules are not in any way the standard set by

everybody, I just gave the above rules to make you understand basically

how it work. Publishers set their policies the way they want.
Who will benefit from guest posting?
Enough talk about what guest posting, I believe you should have the idea

what guest posting means by now.
In every guest posts, two parties are meant to benefit:
1: is the party writing the guest blog post and
2: is the party accepting the guest blog post.
Now, let's analyze how the two parties will benefit from a guest

post.
1) The writer of the guest post:
If you are submitting a guest post to another post, you are gaining

exposure for your blog and in turn telling people about your blog and

therefore getting more readers.
Let's see it this way:
You submit your blog to a fellow blog in the same niche, your article gets

posted, the readers of the publisher's blog find your article interesting

and informative, they would like to know more about you for sure. They

click the link to your blog, read more of your articles and in the

process, they become a loyal subscriber of yours.
You see how beneficial guest posting is?
2) The publisher of the guest post.
Not only the party writing the guest post shares "the profit" of guest

posting. You as the publisher of a guest post; let's see how beneficial it

is to you.
A guest post publisher accepts a quality content from the post writer(

nobody would accept a scrappy content for publishing anyways), publish it

on their blog, by so doing, they keep their blog alive and their blog

never gets dry.And in turn, they serve their readers well and gain their

loyalty.
Now, don't hesitate to start exploring the vast opportunities

guest posting has got to offer.
Although, I haven't started the guest posting thingy myself, I will start

that soon, you wanna watch out for it.
